Raymondskill Falls

Raymondskill Falls

🌊 Raymondskill Falls is a majestic, three-tiered waterfall nestled in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area near Milford, Pennsylvania. It’s the tallest waterfall in the state, with a total drop of about 150 feet, just a few feet shy of Niagara Falls when measured cumulatively.

🏞️ What Makes It Special

  • Three Cascades: The falls tumble in three dramatic stages, each with its own character and sound.
  • Viewing Platforms: Two designated platforms offer stunning perspectives—one near the top and one between the upper and lower drops.
  • Raymondskill Creek Trail: A short but steep trail (about 0.3 miles) leads to the falls, with a spur trail to the creek open seasonally.

🌿 Nature & Atmosphere

  • The surrounding forest is rich with hemlocks, ferns, and mossy boulders, creating a cool, shaded retreat.
  • In spring and early summer, snowmelt and rain make the falls thunderous; in winter, they often freeze into icy sculptures.

đźš« Rules & Tips

  • Swimming & Wading: Strictly prohibited within 50 feet of the falls for safety and preservation.
  • Pets: Not allowed on the trail (except service animals).
  • Parking: Two lots available, but they fill quickly—especially on weekends. A seasonal shuttle runs from Milford Knob Trailhead.

Raymondskill Falls is more than just a photo op—it’s a sensory experience of sound, mist, and movement.
